What are your wall decals made from?

Our wall decals and wallpaper are made from high-quality, removable fabric material called PhotoTex®, designed to be safe for your walls and your home. It is non-toxic and suitable for children’s spaces. We found that after 15 years of experience, this material cannot be beaten in quality.

Will the decals damage my walls?

No — our decals are designed to be removable and reusable without damaging walls when applied and removed correctly. They won’t leave sticky residue behind either.

What surfaces do they work on?

Our decals will adhere to most clean, flat surfaces such as painted gyprock walls, glass, mirrors, wardrobes and more. We do not recommend using our decals on textured surfaces such as concrete, render, painted brickwork or any other porous material.

Can I reuse or reposition them?

Yes — our decals are not only totally removable, but easily reusable over and over again. They will however, lose their adhesion if the sticky side comes into contact with dirt, dust or moisture.

Are your decals safe for babies?

Yes — all our products are made with safety in mind using non-toxic materials, making them suitable for nurseries, bedrooms and play areas. They do not contain any PVC.

Why are your wall decals more expensive than others I’ve seen online?

As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for!

At Ginger Monkey, we use premium PhotoTex® fabric, which is a high-quality, removable material designed specifically for walls. Many lower-priced alternatives use thin vinyl or plastic-based materials that can look shiny, peel over time or leave residue behind. Our decals have a thick, fabric feel which makes them extremely easy to work with.

Our decals are designed to:

be applied easily
will not tear, rip or wrinkle
look like beautiful wall art (not cheap stickers)
no damage to your walls
last for years and and grow with your child
can be moved from home to home
Non-toxic and green

While cheaper options may seem similar at first, the difference in quality, finish and performance becomes very noticeable once applied.

Can I apply decals to freshly painted walls?

No - We recommend waiting at least 2–3 weeks after painting before applying decals to ensure proper adhesion and avoid damage.

Can I take my decals when I move house?

Yes - Try to keep the backing liner that they decals came on. You can however use baking paper / greaseproof paper instead of the original backing liner if you no longer have it. Just gently peel each decal from the wall - It may be best to very slightly warm the decal first with a hairdryer if it’s a cold day. Next, apply the decal sticky side down, to the lining paper. Then simply roll each decal and store or transport in a postage tube ready for their new home.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders are typically shipped within 14 days. Delivery times vary depending on your location. See hour production times for more information.

Where do you ship?

We ship worldwide. Shipping rates and delivery times are calculated at checkout.

Can I return my order if I change my mind?

No - As our wall decals and wallpaper are all made to order, you cannot return your products if you change your mind.

Do you offer express shipping?

Yes — express options are available at checkout. Please note that express shipping does not speed up production time, only the shipping time after the order is dispatched.

Can I track my order?

Yes — once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive a tracking link via email.

What is a MagniDecal?

MagniDecal is a magnetic, wipe-clean wall decal in the shape of an arch, designed for drawing, magnetic play and learning. It transforms your wall into an interactive space for your child. You can add a scalloped border decal, flowers or stars to create a beautiful space that is also fun! Our MagniDecals and border sets are all peel and stick.

What can I use on a MagniDecal?

You can use:

wipe-clean crayons
magnet sets

Always follow product instructions for best results.

Is MagniDecal safe for walls?

Yes — like our wall decals, MagniDecal is designed to be removable and safe for your walls when used as directed. Unlike our standard wall decals, we do not recommend repositioning your MagniDecal more than 2 times.

Can I use regular magnets on my MagniDecal?

Yes — most standard magnets will work on the MagniDecal surface. Just make sure they are light. Heavy magnets may not stick.

Important Information

Wall Decal & Wallpaper Info

Ginger Monkey wall decals and wallpaper can be installed on virtually any flat, clean surface and then removed and reused many times over without leaving any adhesive residue. They are easy to apply and remove and will not shrink, rip or wrinkle. As the material is a polyester fabric, it is Class A or 1 fire rated, green, non-toxic and perfectly safe to use anywhere in your home.

Please note that most of our wall decals are cut into colour and do not have a white border. They are 100% opaque so can be applied to any colour wall and easily overlapped without any show through. If a decal does have a white border or background, it will be stated in description.

Ginger Monkey wall decals and wallpaper has been designed to look like the images have been hand painted onto your wall.

Please note that due to varying screen displays, calibrations and inks used, the colours printed on your wall decal or wallpaper may vary from the example images shown on screen. This includes any wallpaper proofs that are emailed to you.

Production Times

In order to provide our customers with the highest quality product and service possible, we choose to have all products made to order here in Melbourne, Australia. We do not hold stock, therefore turn around times may vary. Please see below for estimated production and dispatch times.

Wall decals will be shipped within 14 business days from ordering.

Wallpaper will be shipped within 2-5 weeks from ordering - You will be given a more accurate delivery time after ordering.

Gift vouchers are supplied instantly via email. No physical item will be sent.

Please note that Express Post shipping DOES NOT speed up the production time.

Order & Shipping Info

PAYMENT

We accept PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Apple Pay and AfterPay.

Using Afterpay you can pay over 8 weeks and receive your order now! There's no interest or added fees and nothing to pay when ordering. Payment will be automatically deducted from your debit or credit card in four equal payments each fortnight over 8 weeks, and you will receive your order immediately.

SHIPPING

We currently use Australia Post for all deliveries. Shipping can take anywhere from 2-14 days (within Aus) from dispatch date. Delivery time varies depending on where you are located and the product ordered. We offer FREE STANDARD SHIPPING (Australia wide only) on all orders over $200.

CLICK HERE to check the delivery status of a current order. You will need to enter your Australia Post tracking number provided on your delivery confirmation email.

All products will be issued with a tracking number. You will be sent your tracking number via an automated email after your order has been dispatched.

Our FREE standard delivery includes tracking Australia wide however does not require a signature. If you require a signature upon delivery, please choose the 'Signature on Delivery' option for an additional cost (within Australia Only). By choosing the FREE standard shipping option, you agree to your order being left in a safe place by the driver without notification.

Express post delivery is available for an additional cost and includes overnight delivery (where available) and tracking. It does not include a signature on delivery. The Express Post shipping option does not shorten the production time - As all products are made to order, the standard required time to produce your order will remain the same. Your order will be sent express post when it's ready for dispatch.

Signature on Delivery is available for an additional cost and will require your order to be signed for on arrival. If you're not available to sign for the delivery, the driver will not leave your order in a safe place. Your order will be forwarded to your local post office awaiting signed collection.

We are based in Melbourne and are happy for you to collect your order to save on postage costs. Contact us for pick up details.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We ship all products worldwide. Shipping costs will be automatically calculated at checkout. Standard worldwide shipping includes tracking on all items. Delivery can take up to 3 weeks depending on the destination country.

You may wish to choose Express International Shipping to expedite your order. Express shipping can take anywhere from 3-10 days depending on the country it is going to. Express shipping also includes a signature on delivery and free SMS tracking if required. You may wish to check with your local postal service if your order has not arrived when it was due, as you may not have been notified of an attempted delivery. Ensure you check your tracking details regularly from time of dispatch to monitor the progress of your delivery.

You will be notified if your delivery is returned to us and an additional shipping cost will be required before your order is shipped again if:

Your order wasn't collected from your local post office or delivery centre within the required time frame.
You refused to pay customs duty that may be required.
An incorrect shipping address has been supplied to us.

TAXES & CUSTOMS DUTY: International buyers are liable for any customs and import taxes that may incur. All countries regulations and taxes will vary. We are not responsible for delays due to items being held in customs for any extent of time.

Australia Post DOES NOT offer a fragile service. Whilst we take every care in packaging your order, we are NOT responsible or liable for any breakages, damage or lost items during the delivery process.

WALLPAPER PROOFING

We will email you a proof for all wallpaper designs.

Take a few minutes to carefully check dimensions, content and layout. If all is correct and you are happy for us to proceed, then you will need to confirm that this proof is approved and ready for print.

Please note that the wallpaper will be made to the size requested so please ensure it is correct. We do however add an extra 20mm on each wall edge and at the bottom of each drop. This is to allow for uneven walls etc. and can be trimmed after application.

Once you have approved your proof and your order is printed, you cannot make any changes.

COLOUR MATCHING

Our wallpaper and wall decals are printed in CMYK (4 colour process). Although the colours are generally the same we cannot guarantee there won’t be a slight variation in ink colour for each item printed. If you wish to match a paint colour, we would suggest waiting until you receive your order to ensure an exact colour match.

The colours printed may vary slightly from what you see on screen due to different monitor settings and calibrations. We also recommend viewing your proof on a computer as phones and tablets may display the colours incorrectly.
